Lucky Richard ....

I had a lovely request last week via my website last week - a lady wanted a card to
give to her boyfriend on 29th February, asking him to marry her ??!!

According to an old Irish legend, or possibly history, St Bridget struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men – and not just the other way around – every 4 years. This is believed to have been introduced to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how Leap Day balances the calendar.

On the front of the card I die-cut the letters for his name
and punched the heart out with a SU punch.....she wanted to keep it simple.

.......and when Richard opens the card he will find ........

I typed the words out and stuck them to some thick kraft card and
used a Cuttlebug Jigsaw die that
I found on eBay on Sunday night - and thankfully arrived today -
and when Richard pieces the jigsaw together....

How lovely and romantic is that ?? I hope she gets in touch with me
and lets me know the answer !!!

Thanks for stopping by - and all your lovely comments.

Happy 1st Birthday Opal xx

Thank you to my new Linky followers !!

My gorgeous niece, Opal, is one today - where on earth has that time gone....
I decided to use a LOTV image that had come free pre-printed with a magazine - the paper was also free with the same magazine !!

We won't be spending the day with Opal as she lives in Kent but we did see her this week and had special birthday hugs :0)

A sneaky peak at the inside - cards just don't feel complete now
 if I don't embellish the inside ....

A New Beginning....

My dear friend and next door neighbour moved today - her husband has decided after 23 years (she's only 40 - so virtually all her adult life) no longer wants to be married - my poor friend is devastated but has been so brave and has held it together and remained at home since he told her in August (she found out, only two weeks ago, that he has been having a two year long affair with her best friend) - as she left today to her new home I was in much more of a state than she was....and although she has only moved 10 minutes away - it just won't be the same.
My thoughts are with her tonight as I'm sure it will hit her......

Here is my card that I made for her......

I bought the paper from the new SU mini catalogue how gorgeous does it look....??

Inside Story

During my blog hopping hours I have noticed that more and more crafters are also embellishing the inside of their cards so I thought I would have a go.....

I have quite a few cards to show you over the next few days as
I have totally shut myself off during the school day and crafted, crafted and more ....I even made a Christmas card ;-)

This card was made for a lady friend at school whose friend turns 40 today - she has lost 4.5 stone as she decided she didn't want her life to begin with her overweight - she does look like a new woman :D

Today I would like to enter into

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge - Its all about girls
I love Promarkers Challenge - Photo Inspiration
