This is a poem which I have written for John to read at the funeral.....I wanted to share it with you because she was truly a wonderful woman...........love you Brenda Xx
Our Mum
Everyday of our lives, you’ve always been there
You’ve always loved us and always cared
From the day we were born, to the day that you died
We remember your life with joy & with pride
You built us a home, you showed us love
You taught us values from above
Somewhere safe, somewhere to thrive
You gave us the tools to live our lives
Through stormy times you’ve been our calm
Were always there with open arms
You never judged, never pushed away
Always saw blue sky on a cloudy day
The times we laughed until we cried
Sometimes so much it hurt inside
We stuck together, were always one
A special bond between Mother & son
A family still because of you
And now there’s more, there’s wives & kids
A testament to what you did
The time then came for you to leave
Though you weren’t afraid it’s hard not to grieve
You loved us so much; you’d kept up the fight
Until you left us for the light
You’re with your God & I know he’ll be
So honoured to have you as so were we…..
We Love You Mum
OH Susan... i am so sorry to hear the news. I know it was going to happen - but even so its a shock when it does.
ReplyDeleteFrom what i have read on your blog Brenda was a wonderful lady - and she has a family who loves her so very very much and her memory will live on in all your hearts for ever .
If when i die my family think as much of me - and say such wonderful things about me i will definitely rest in peace.
Your poem is beautiful and there will not be a dry eye in the room.
My thoughts are with you all at this time. It will be difficult - but you will gain strength from the love that Brenda had for you all

What a beautiful heartfelt poem Susan and I know Brenda will love it. Although you were expecting and bracing yourself for her passing it was never going to be easy when it came. You all have such wonderful memories of this amazing lady, they will help you through these difficult days, weeks and months ahead. You have my numbers, don't be afraid to use them.
