A piece of cake....

Boy was it cold here today - my friend has taken me under her wing and we have been going for a walk each day - we chat, sort out the world and 4 miles later do feel better...and lost 7lbs since Christmas too !!

My Brother-in-law had his birthday last week - I always find making
his card tricky but decided to keep it simple.

I used LCI Magnum add-on and made it the focus of my card and
thought it worked out quite nice....

Kraft card - my stash
Punched with Martha Stewart punch

Just a quick one......

Has been a funny old weekend - both John and I felt wrong being here - first weekend in two months we have been home......we didn't achieve anything and now feel that we have wasted it !!??!!

It was my neighbour's sons birthday a couple of weeks ago and here is the card I made for him - like all boys of that age he is always in front of a game !!

I loved the vibrant colours - out of my comfort zone but I think it worked.

Just love this ribbon.......

I have been very generous this week and allowed myself
lots of craft time - totally what the Doctor ordered....

Today I have a beautiful card for a friend of mine - and if I didn't know different would think this image was of her !!

The paper was from a digital purchase from Pink Petticoat - lovingly stitched with my mini sewing machine......and a beautiful bow using ribbon from Tracy @ Dies to Die For.....isn't it just fantastic ?!

The gorgeous image is from my bestest craft supplier Kerry @ Ladybugcraftsink

I would like to enter this into LCI Challenge - Bows

Mum.....

Brenda's funeral was a lovely celebration of her life. The church was so packed the doors could not be closed and people were standing in every space available.
Beautiful tributes were read by all the family and Lewis had written a poem which Eleanor and he read verse for verse.....I was so proud of them and everyone was in awe of their 'Northern accent' and how well they read aloud.

There wasn't a dry eye in the whole church and everyone held and shared some lovely memories.....it was a long tough day but I'm sure Brenda would've been happy if she was looking down on us all.

I made this card last week for Brenda which was put onto the flowers.......

Card stock - Stampin' Up
Butterflies - Martha Stewart Punch
Letters - Crosscuts die cutters
Ribbon - Gift wrap ribbon from Phoenix Trading

Thank you again to all my lovely blogging friends for your kind words and support.

Back to Blogland....

Thank you to all my blogging friends for all your kind mails and support during this very sad time. Lewis is really struggling with things at the moment and hopefully after the funeral on Friday we can help him move on.....

Ralph is a character and when you ask him how he is - he says 'Much the same but without Mum' - all very very difficult and over the next few months we have a huge decision about his future.

I have a very dear friend whose birthday it is on Saturday and truly could not let it go by without making her a card.

I brought out my lovely LCI Nikki stamp and created this - I was very happy with it and hope she is too.......

Our Mum

Everyday of our lives, you’ve always been there
You’ve always loved us and always cared
From the day we were born, to the day that you died
We remember your life with joy & with pride

You built us a home, you showed us love
You taught us values from above
Somewhere safe, somewhere to thrive

You gave us the tools to live our lives

Through stormy times you’ve been our calm
Were always there with open arms
You never judged, never pushed away
Always saw blue sky on a cloudy day

The times we laughed until we cried
Sometimes so much it hurt inside
We stuck together, were always one
A special bond between Mother & son

Now years have passed, we all came through
A family still because of you
And now there’s more, there’s wives & kids
A testament to what you did

The time then came for you to leave
Though you weren’t afraid it’s hard not to grieve
You loved us so much; you’d kept up the fight
Until you left us for the light

Time to say goodbye and to let you go
You’ll always be with us I know you know
You’re with your God & I know he’ll be
So honoured to have you as so were we…..

A stitch in time.....

I am in love with my new sewing machine - small that it is
 - it is so easy to use and takes up very little space...
..I gave it it's first try yesterday and loved loved loved it !!

Over at LCI the challenge is 'Use your new stash' - I have used my new sewing machine !! , ribbon from Dies to Die for , stamp from LOTV.

I love the ribbon too - it is so scrumptious - I came to buy some more yesterday and it is out of stock :(

Eleanor has a school buddy called Anna - who she looks out for in the playground and dinner hall etc - and she absolutely adores her.
Can you believe it's her birthday on Sunday - and it's mine too - bizarre how often this happens.....I have 5 friends (or friends children) who share my birthday !!!

So - did I tell you I got a sewing machine for Christmas - and I love love love it !!
Here is my creation for Anna - I hope there is enough pink and glitter for a 5 year old girl :)
