Another weekend gone.....

John left on Thursday morning with an agenda most people would be exhausted reading.......he will be back from his last leg Bangalore on Friday night :)

This means I have spent the weekend amusing Lewis and Eleanor - we went to the cinema yesterday, with tea at Frankie and Benny's , today has been homework and sorting out cupboards and wardrobes......don't you feel better once you've achieved something like that. 

We sold old DVDs on a website (musicmagpie) and made £70 - some only worth pence but we would never watch them again and eBay is so saturated - we decided to go ahead.

Today I made 36 Baptist invites for a customer - and the words were in Spanish - she had sent me the image that she wanted on it - here is what I came up with.......

and a birthday card for a friend's daughter who loves animals but allergic to them so can never have one of her very own :(

Grumps...

Lewis and Eleanor have followed tradition and called my FIL 'Grumps' ever since they were born and to be honest I can't imagine him as anything else !!

I am very ahead of myself as his birthday isn't until October but was desperate to ink this stamp !!!!

I received my parcel from LCI last week and only got time today to actually get one inked - it was such a lovely stamp to play with, I think I will be using this one often......

Grumpy Old Man

Lewis has settled into high school - we have had a little chat and have told him unfortunately the world is full of people who say nasty things because they think it's funny - he is such a worrier and takes to heart everything that is said.....a tough lesson coming from a tiny church school where everyone wouldn't say boo to a goose :?

I was asked a couple of weeks ago by my friend who lives next door to make a card for a man at work who is turning 60 and is grumpy and likes a pint !

I had this Bugaboo image on my hard drive and decided it would fit the bill - I did check that the sentiment was okay before I added it !!

I used my glossy accents for his glasses and am so happy with them.....not photographed as well as I would have like but never mind.

Had a peaceful weekend - with children's homework - who has a phobia of sticky back plastic ???!!! - backed so many books don't think I could face another piece !!!

We remember....

Lewis' New Chapter....

My son started high school yesterday - he was walking around in a daze last night and just couldn't get any sentence out without tripping over his words ....tonight he is teary someone has said something quite hurtful - it's such an emotional time.....as a parent you want to protect them but you know that they have to go through it......horrible :(

Autumn Term begins......

Said my goodbyes to Eleanor this morning - you'd think she'd gone away for 6 months not 6 hours the way I feel !!!!

Taking Lewis and a friend into town today - they have lots of Wii games that they want to trade in - you know the games that were fine in July when you were at primary school - but oh so uncool to have in your collection at high school !!!!

One of the ladies who orders alot of cards from me moved house on Friday and thought it only right that I send her a card......here's my creation.

Who lives here ??

Well Eleanor goes off to school tomorrow - have felt sick all day - what will I feel like on Tuesday when Lewis starts high school......just have to make a huge dent in making my Christmas cards to keep me occupied :)

Here is a card I was asked to make today for a couple who are moving in together and he is Australian so she asked me to to try and incorporate it somehow in the card.

I haven't tried 'bunting' before but think I've found something that will be going onto alot of my cards......

I made the backing paper using 'julesdingz' font - capital H - and alternated it in red and blue - I was very happy with the result :)
