Paper Piecing Challenge at Ladybugcraftsink....

This will be my final scheduled post before I get home.....sorry for my lack of commenting during this time but normal service should now begin !!!

The 'Summer Fun' challenge at LCI certainly was a big hit with everyone but then again with the weather this summer in the UK it was our closest thing to it .....

This fortnightly challenge at Ladybugcraftsink is

'PAPER PIECING'

This is one part of crafting I am not 100% fond of - I am just too clumsy with scissors - hopefully you will be better than me !!

The image I've used is called ' Sleeping Baby Baby' and I've paper pieced the blanket and pillow to match the backing paper from Pink Petticoat.

The ribbon is another favourite of mine from LCI , as is the felt for the Die-namics rolled flower die.

Sorry but for some strange reason I forgot to photograph the inside of the card :0( and had already sent it before I realised.

Mid-month LCI TLT Challenge reminder.

When you are reading this I will be approx 10,563 miles away from home - yes I am spending the summer holidays in Australia.

At the time of writing this I am so excited and trying to think of ways

 of being able to stay longer :0D

Hope everyone is having a great summer and that whether you are home or away that the weather has been kind to you.

This month the challenge over at LCI is 'Summer Fun' so if you haven't already entered you still have until Midday on Monday 27th August, so dust down your craft table and get posting your creations ......

I have used 3 digi images on my card today - Magnum, Add-on Balloon and Bouquet Delight, I glittered the balloon and loved how it turned out.

The backing paper is from Nitwits and the solid backing card and ribbon from Stampin' Up

Scheduled......

Has anyone been watching the drama on channel 4 'Revenge' - I've just got up to date with all my Sky + recordings so that I have enough percentage for all my recordings whilst away - and I could watch it for much much longer - really enjoy it.

While you are reading this I will certainly be in Australia enjoying the relaxed way of life and catching up with my family.....and I have John for 3 weeks - eeeek what will we do think it's the longest I've been with him in years .

My card today is a Bugaboo image - sorry if I bore you with this one but I do love it.

The backing papers are Stampin' Up, Delicious Ribbon from May Arts.

Down Under.......

How excited am I ?!?!?! We travel to Australia tomorrow evening for 3.5 weeks :0) My Auntie and my cousins live out there and since I was tiny all I've ever wanted to do is live there - don't think that will ever happen but I love love love going to visit.

We stay with my Auntie who is about 1.5 hours North of Sydney and go from there......my cousin and family live about 10 mins from her.....lots of sleepovers with mine and my cousin's children in order.....just spoken to Peta (my cousin) on Skype and she said it's freezing here - I said oh no - what temperature - 20 -23 degrees !! - and that's Winter !!!!!!

My card today is for a 40 year old avid motorbike fan......the image I had from a while ago and can't remember where I got it from...the backing paper is Pink Petticoat - SU star punch.......

Summer Fun at Ladybugscraftsink ...

Good Morning - wow !! now wasn't the 'Christmas in July' blog hop fun, did you guess the word ??

I had so many lovely comments on my new DT - thank you all.

The new 'Christmas Delight' digi images look like they are going to be  popular and there were some stunning entries to the challenge.

Now onto this month's challenge 'Summer Fun' - my creation this month is Magnum and Lily mowing the lawn - not much fun but ho hum !!

Actually Magnum looks like my husband mowing the lawn !!

The solid coloured backing card is from Stampin' Up, the patterned paper is Nitwits....the ribbon is from LCI and the fimo daisys were a purchase from eBay a long while ago.

The blades on the mower have been 'flittered' (ha ha Kerry !!) but again doesn't show on the photo....

Pink and Turquoise...

 I had a fabulous weekend - met up with Lisa - My Makes"n" Me - a fellow Ladybug and what a wonderful lady she is.....we talked and talked and talked and the funniest thing was, on the way over I was quite nervous wondering if we'd have anything to talk about !!!!!

My card today was an order from the lady who made Eleanor's scrumptious birthday cake and cupcakes......

The image is a Bugaboo digi image, backing papers from Nitwit and my infamous May Arts ribbon....hope you like it.

A 'Me' Weekend .....

Well - what a weekend I have planned (or not :0) !! ) Tomorrow I am meeting one of my fellow ladybugs - how exciting is that !!! and in the evening catching up with some girl friends for a meal and a drink or two......Saturday - sorting and tidying my craft room and Sunday - well who knows may just stay in bed with Christian ;0)

Have you guessed ?? I am home alone all weekend !!! John and Lewis are off to the Olympic opening ceremony concert in Hyde Park and then on to care for my FIL for the weekend.....and Eleanor is off to Anglesey with her BFF until Monday morning.....is it right to be excited to be spending time on your own ?!?!?

Today's card is for a neighbour whose daughter will be one on Saturday.....I loved this image and decided to paper piece the number one and was very happy with the outcome.
