Dragonfly ......

Sun is still shining here - and can you believe it is hotter than
the South of England !!

A friend lost her Dad about 8 years ago and each and every day she talks about him, and when he was very ill he told her that whenever she saw a Dragonfly to think of him....and she now believes when she sees one it's her Dad looking after her. This helps my friend through her loss and can you believe she started a new job and the teacher who she was assisting brought in a Dragonfly that she'd found in the courtyard outside their classroom that morning - I was covered in goosebumps after she told me this story.

Claire has been helping out in Eleanor's class recently and on Friday she moves on so today I wanted to make her something special.....

what do you think ??

One Day, Two Ladies, One Birthday !!!

Well today I have been busy - raked all the leaves in the garden, sucked them up with our leaf sucker upper.....emptied some pots....and generally tidied up a little bit before my back told me to stop :(

So I took a shower, sprayed my back with my fabulous Bio-Freeze and went off to craft.

One of my friends is a member of a Tennis club and she asked me to make a card for two girls who both have their birthday on Thursday.....so I decided to use the same image but different colour ways....

.....and this is what I come up with.....

Card number 1

a wonderful compilation.......

Card number 2.....

Happy Birthday Amy !!

The sun is shining here again today - we go walking in The Lakes next week - you can just imagine can't you - gorgeous weather all this week and pouring with rain next !!!

Eleanor's friend, Amy, was 11 last week and here is the card I made for her - Eleanor didn't want me to put her age on it so if she wanted to keep it in a frame she could ......

and another compilation......

For my Mummy.....

This blog is about a week late - but ho hum ......

Mother's Day was a tough one in my house - our first one without Brenda, and John went off to Singapore early hours - fortunately I have Lewis and Eleanor who were little stars......my favourite Jo Malone perfume and a gorgeous bouquet of flowers were my treats - and I wasn't allowed to do anything - until they had had enough !!!!

One of my neighbours celebrated her very first Mother's day and Ava Rose's Daddy called and asked me to make a card with a rose.....I found this one on Digistamp Boutique.

Ava's Mummy loved it.......:)

I saw on another blog a 'compilation' and loved the effect

Something Slightly Different.....

My neighbour had a beautiful baby girl recently and I wanted to do something a little bit different for her.
So I printed the baby's details on a piece of white card and with my Martha Stewart multi-butterfly punch punched from several different cardstocks and decorated it.
I then placed it into a frame which I bought from Ikea and this was the result....
Onelia and Andrew absolutely loved it......:)

I put the frame on my Facebook page and was overwhelmed with inbox messages - and took 11 orders for different occasions.
Here is one for another newborn baby - the parents had decorated the nursery like a meadow so I let my imagination run.....

This is my creation - which was very very happily received.

Bear Love.....

I have not been a true blogger recently - had Eleanor on a residential, Lewis taking his drum exam, Eleanor returning, John left for Singapore for 10 days.....and then Eleanor off sick this week......feel like I've been on a rollercoaster !!! Thought I would get loads of crafting time but I have hardly had anytime.....:(

I was asked to make a card for a friend's husband - she wanted to keep it simple and if possible with a teddy bear......her husband loved the card...

Pardon ???!!!!

I'm really sorry but I need to share this with you - I make a lot of cards, for a lot of people and some are more complex than others - some just say ' It's up to you, it's for a lady, she likes a glass of wine, she'll be 50' some a little more specific but I received this email from someone I didn't know and I have to say I couldn't stop laughing.......
"Hi Susan,
I was hoping that you might be able to design a card for my best friends birthday. I would like it to be of a large bay horse (brown body with black mane and tale) standing at a show ground with a 1st red rossette on his bridal, there would be a female adult rider (looking very pleased with herself) on his back - he would be standing in the middle of two small ponies with young riders (they would look disgruntled) and be called toffee and muffin. I would like the caption to say \'\'Achilles and Jo are not too embarrassed to steal first place from Toffee and Muffin\'\'....Is this possible?"

I wrote back and said that I didn't think I could do it - but could certainly make a horse themed card but much much simpler......fortunately she agreed !!!

This is what I came up with......

Nikki again ......

John arrived back from his first trip away this year early this morning - it has been a tough couple of weeks - he normally travels 3 out of 4 weeks but since Brenda passed away he has worked from home.

He climbed into bed the early hours, and although love having him back he has kept me awake snoring......one thing I definitely haven't missed :0)

So I decided to get up and show you another Nikki card that I made yesterday...

Spring had sprung.....

...until today - it was wet, windy and cold and didn't want to go outside !

I went to Sincerely Yours papercraft show yesterday - only managed an hour as I am still getting tired very quickly - but managed to get a few goodies :)

I have managed to do a little colouring this week - a new digi release from LCI - which are all truly gorgeous.
